Our students have participated in the Weather Observation Competition 2018, jointly organized by the Ho Koon Nature Education cum Astronomical Centre and the Hong Kong Observatory. They obtained outstanding results in all three categories of the competition.

In the preliminary round of the Weather and Climate Quiz, one of our team members, Ho Chung Wa of 4D, has been crowned as individual champion. Being one of the top teams in the preliminary round, our team entered the final round of the competition. With their strong background knowledge in relevant subjects and collaborative skills, they were able to make reasonable meteorological analysis and forecasts within a very limited timeframe based on the given scenarios and data, as well as giving clear and organized presentations on their findings. As a result, they became the overall champion out of 41 teams.

Our team also won merit awards in the other two categories of the competition. Their project report was one of the ten best reports among all teams. They spent over a month to investigate the characteristics of Hong Kong weather during the Springtime of 2018. The team used a creative way to present their report on the day of competition. Moreover, the weather photo taken by our students was selected to be one of the best photos among approximately 80 submissions. It will be printed as a souvenir and sent to all secondary schools in Hong Kong by the organizer.
