September 3rd marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Our students watched the live broadcast of the military parade in Beijing in their classrooms and the school hall.
Before the ceremony began, a speech under the "National Flag" reflected on China's victory in the war, encouraging students to contemplate history and conveying the message: "Remember history, honor the martyrs, cherish peace, and create the future."
The commemorative assembly commenced at 9:00 AM in Tiananmen Square. Following a salute of cannons and the national flag-raising ceremony, President Xi Jinping delivered a speech. In his important address, he stated that humanity should work together and coexist harmoniously, and must never return to the jungle law of the survival of the fittest. He emphasized the need to adhere to the path of peaceful development at all times and to steadfastly protect world peace and tranquility.
By watching the military parade, students witnessed a disciplined and spirited modern army while also learning about China's role in promoting world peace.
