On January 22 and 23, Form 3 students visited the Ming Pao Industrial Building in Chai Wan during the school’s activity days to gain a comprehensive understanding of newspaper operations.
The visit commenced at the printing plant, where students attended a briefing conducted by Ming Pao representatives. During this session, they observed one of the few remaining newspaper printing machine in Hong Kong, gaining foundational knowledge of printing process. Subsequently, the groups visited the editorial department and archive room on the 17th floor to observe professional newsroom workflows and examine historical archives, illustrating how journalists systematically collect and organize information.
The program concluded with a series of experiential activities. One group participated in the "My Ming Pao" workshop, designing personalized front-page layouts, while another group assumed the role of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to deliver live broadcasts on topics such as food and cinema. These activities provided students with practical exposure to the professional responsibilities and technical skills required in the field of journalism.
