On the morning of 9 September, all Form 1 students gathered in the school hall to watch the live broadcast of the "Tiangong Class: Hong Kong and Macao Designated Session" space lecture. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly Dr. Lai Ka-ying, Hong Kong's first payload specialist, who served as the "space teacher."

During the lecture, Dr. Lai delivered a unique and warm presentation showcasing microgravity science and everyday life in space. She specially took the students on a virtual tour of her "space bedroom," showing them family photos pinned by her bed, her children's handmade drawings, and exquisite models of classic Hong Kong snacks. This cozy, real-life sharing instantly bridged the distance between the students and space hundreds of kilometers above, allowing everyone to see the warm, relatable side of an astronaut alongside her rigorous professionalism.

In her role as a payload specialist, Dr. Lai focused on explaining and demonstrating several microgravity scientific experiments conducted on the space station. Using accessible and easy-to-understand language, she introduced the operating principles of the experiment cabinets and invited the students to observe the unique dynamic behaviour of fluids under microgravity.

As the first Hong Kong-born astronaut to teach from orbit, Dr. Lai not only gave students a firsthand look at the charm of China's top-tier aerospace technology, but also left them with a profound realisation that "Hong Kong strength" can truly shine bright in the nation's space endeavours.
