On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the campus was immersed in a vibrant festive spirit and a warm sense of community. The Chinese Society specially organised the Grand Opening of the Chinese Culture Room and collaborated with the Counselling Team to host the "Celebrating Mid-Autumn with You" event. The festivities brought the entire school of teachers and students together for a heartwarming afternoon filled with cultural richness and joyous laughter.
Successful Opening of the Chinese Culture Room and Mid-Autumn Celebrations
On the opening day of the Chinese Culture Room, teachers and students gathered in high spirits. Amidst eager anticipation, teachers and the Chinese Society committee members cut the ceremonial ribbon together. Accompanied by fluttering ribbons and resounding applause, the Chinese Culture Room officially opened its doors. Moving forward, this new space will serve as a vital platform for promoting the Chinese language and traditional culture, offering an enriched environment for cultural immersion.
A Spectacular Blend: Traditional Games Meet Mental Well-being
The booth activities held on Mid-Autumn Day were incredibly engaging, perfectly intertwining traditional culture with mental health awareness. Students experienced ancient wisdom firsthand through traditional games set up at the venue, such as Mushe (ancient Chinese bowling) and Touhu (pitch-pot). A marble-clipping game that tested hand-eye coordination also drew waves of enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. Furthermore, the Counselling Team set up the "Pomelo Love • Heart-to-Heart Circle" to share fun facts about mental health, along with a "Chang'e Message Box." Through this box, committee members helped deliver students' heartfelt blessings to their peers, spreading abundant care throughout the holiday.
Working Together for a Warm, Culturally Rich Campus
The event came to a successful close amidst smiles and heartwarming moments. Looking ahead, the Chinese Society will continue to leverage the Chinese Culture Room to host a wider variety of fun and engaging cultural activities. This will allow everyone to appreciate the beauty of the Chinese language and the warmth of the school community in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
