The community care and blessing bag distribution event, hosted by the Rotary Club of Area Eight, was successfully held on Saturday, December 13th, at the Tong Mei Tsuen Transitional Housing Community in Yuen Long. Our school's Interact Club participated by sending 16 students, and the event ultimately benefited up to 200 local residents.
During the first phase of the activities, students from the Interact Club fully dedicated themselves to an interactive games session with approximately 30 elderly residents. The students demonstrated immense enthusiasm and patience, successfully creating a joyful and warm atmosphere by connecting with the seniors through games thoughtfully designed by the organizing Rotary Club. Following this, volunteers proceeded to distribute the prepared blessing bags to the community members, engaging in warm exchanges and conveying social care and best wishes to the beneficiaries.
Significantly, after concluding the games and distribution, our students were granted the valuable opportunity to tour the Transitional Housing Community. This rare, first-hand experience allowed the students to deeply understand the community's practical needs and the meaning of service, perfectly embodying our school motto's spirit: "I Am Not Born for Myself Alone."
