During the New Year holidays, twelve students from our school's Interact Club and the Moral, Civic and National Education Team traveled to Poland to participate in a Model United Nations (MUN) conference. After three days of intense diplomatic debate and negotiation, the trip concluded successfully. Amidst competition from outstanding students worldwide, Chu Chun Wa (David) from Class 4E distinguished himself within his committee through his exceptional logical thinking and oratory skills, earning a "Verbal Mention" (Chair's Commendation). This award recognizes David’s proactive contributions to policy analysis and diplomatic mediation, showcasing the remarkable global perspective of our students.
Beyond the academic exchange, students stepped outside the council chambers to conduct field visits to historical sites in Poland, deepening their humanitarian awareness. Students toured the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, exploring over a thousand years of Jewish cultural heritage and historical evolution in Poland through its rich exhibits. They also visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial site, reflecting deeply on the atrocities of war and the paramount importance of human rights. This journey not only honed the students' diplomatic skills but also allowed them to grasp the significance of peace and cooperation through the lens of history.
