From 27 to 30 August this year, the Interact Club and the Chinese Drama Team co-organised a four-day, three-night Drama Service and Cultural Exchange Tour to Taipei, Taiwan.

[Drama Service in the Community: Caring for the Elderly and the Disadvantaged]
The team visited the Private Hao Jia Yuan Senior Long-Term Care Center and the non-profit organisation Do You A Flavor to deliver touring performances. The team performed their original play, Garden Pearl Bitter Tea, which revolved around Taiwanese local culture and collective memories, successfully fostering community connection. Following the performances, team members played interactive games with the service recipients to get to know one another, allowing them to feel genuine warmth and care.

[Attending Fringe Festival Plays & Visiting Taipei Performing Arts Center] Regarding drama culture, team members attended the 2026 Taipei Fringe Festival to watch We Are All Problems of Popped Balloons, the 8th production by Life Theatre, gaining deep insights into professional acting and stage blocking. Additionally, the team visited the Taipei Performing Arts Center to explore its modern theatrical architecture and spatial design, gathering rich aesthetic inspiration for future dramatic creations.

[Exploring Cultural Parks & Historic Streets: Experiencing Local Heritage]
For cultural experiences, the team visited Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and Huashan 1914 Creative Park to learn how Taiwan revitalises historic spaces into modern creative hubs. They also visited Shifen Old Street to experience traditional railway culture, along with Chifeng Street and Ximending to discover Taipei's diverse cultural charm spanning retro style and youth trends.

The four-day, three-night journey concluded successfully. Team members not only enhanced their artistic skills in drama but also brought warmth and care to local elders and the community.
