Exams are over, and with exciting post-exam activities on the horizon, it's a great time to recap our recent F.4 & F. 5 Geography field trips!
Our Geography students recently took their classroom knowledge outdoors with two engaging field trips:
F.4 Coastal Explorations
On May 15, 2025, two lively F.4 groups, guided by Ms. Hannah Lam and Mr. Chan Ka Ho, embarked on a fascinating trip to Cheung Chau. One group explored Kwun Yam Wan Beach, analyzing how constructive waves shaped it and documenting coastal landforms like sea geos and sea stacks. The other group investigated Tung Wan Beach, focusing on human impact and conducting hands-on wave measurements. This trip truly deepened their understanding of coastal ecosystems and sparked a passion for environmental care.
F.5 Urban Transformation Study
Just before that, on May 10, F.5 Geography students headed to San Po Kong for fieldwork on "The Transformation of San Po Kong Industrial Area." Led by mentors from the Caritas Chan Chun Ha Field Studies Center, students performed on-site tasks, including assessing industrial building ages and mapping land use changes. Analyzing this data helped them understand the evolving urban landscape. This practical experience not only brought their textbooks to life but also prepared them for their upcoming DSEs.
A big thank you to all the teachers and coaches who made these enriching experiences possible! These field trips provided invaluable hands-on learning, boosting our students' understanding of geography and getting them ready for future academic challenges. We hope our students continue to venture out and explore the world around them!
